AI for Beginners Aged 50 and Over

Many adults 50 and over know AI is becoming part of daily life but have not had a comfortable place to begin. Some worry they will be left behind as the technology changes. This class starts with plain language and hands-on examples, so participants can understand the basics and gain the confidence to try AI for themselves.

We plan to introduce what AI can and cannot do, show how to ask clear questions, practice useful everyday tasks, and discuss how to check answers and protect personal information. No previous AI experience is needed.

02 / NEXT LEVEL

Intermediate AI, 50+

TBD

Build on the basics with guided practice in writing, organizing ideas, comparing options, and refining questions to get more useful responses.

Why this class? Once someone has tried AI, practice helps turn a new skill into a tool they can use with greater independence.

03 / DEEPER PRACTICE

Advanced AI, 50+

TBD

Explore longer projects, multi-step tasks, stronger ways to evaluate results, and responsible choices about privacy and accuracy.

Why this class? People who want to do more than ask simple questions need time to practice using AI carefully for meaningful projects.

Planned classes

Health and wellness learning

Practical, evidence-based education to help people understand their options, ask better questions, and make informed choices.

04 / EVERYDAY HABITS

Healthy Living, Step by Step

Planned

Learn how evidence-based habits around movement, rest, food, and daily routines can fit into real life without a one-size-fits-all plan.

Why this class? Health advice can feel overwhelming; this class helps people focus on realistic actions they can understand and sustain.

05 / MENTAL WELLNESS

Caring for Your Mental Well-Being

Planned

Explore stress, emotional well-being, connection, and practical ways to find support. The class provides education and resources, not individual treatment.

Why this class? People benefit from a welcoming place to talk about mental well-being and learn when and how to seek help.

06 / NUTRITION

Nutrition for Everyday Life

Planned

Make sense of balanced meals, food labels, and common nutrition claims using evidence-based information and practical examples.

Why this class? Conflicting advice can make food choices harder; clear information helps people make choices that suit their needs and circumstances.

07 / HEALTH LITERACY

Understanding Your Lab Results

Planned

Learn how to read a lab report, what reference ranges mean, and which questions to bring to a health care professional. Individual results need clinical context.

Why this class? A report can be confusing on its own; understanding its parts helps people take a more active role in conversations about their health.

Suggestions to consider

Ideas for future classes
